Performance Comments
HUGHEY is a big ‘feely’ gelding with good stature and bone. He moves like a show horse and stretches out and travels well. He is brilliant to ride out and floats across the ground. He is sure footed and has done some miles in harder country and most recently spent time pen riding in a feedlot.
His dam WIMBORNE WHO DONE IT (HOLLY) was a true to type stockhorse mare who was a successful show jumper before being started on cattle. In her first four starts she made two finals with scores up to 86, not bad for a show ring mare. Her sire MAROOMBA WHO (which she has a double cross) has had progeny in the winners circle in a multitude of disciplines which include; Campdrafting, ASH Challenges, Dressage, Show Jumping, Polo and Polocrosse. With one foal WIMBORNE WHOS ENCOUNTER being exported for show jumping. MAROOMBA WHO is by TIMOR JACK ABBA who descends from dominant foundation ASH lines ABBEY and RADIUM.
HUGHEYS sire ALBUQUERQUE was that ultimate Stockhorse Quarter Horse Cross. His foals are all of great type, temperament and mind. With flowing, elevated front ends and a decent motor in the back. ALBUQUERQUE was a very powerful NOVICE campdraft horse with ‘wow’ factor cutout’s under the hand of John and Tammy Cross. ALBUQUERQUE was the overall winner of the NAB Rookie Horse Series. ALBUQUERQUE was by ADIOS REFLECT from DOCS FRECKLES OAK MARE, EMMAS OLENA.
