Performance Comments

Riverglen Kokomo ASH 251047 is a black 4yo, DOB: 19/11/18, 15.1hh mare by Doongara Powerade, out of Riverglen Trinity. Koko was started as a late 2yo, she had a professional start for a professional horse. She was very easy to break and had a great first session, before returning to the paddock for a spell. During the process of being broken in, she was faultless and showed glimpses of the potential she now holds. Since being started under saddle she has had outings at local venues, just for the experience under saddle, she upheld all the standards she had set at home and has worked the same no matter the atmosphere. Her ability to be relaxed in every situation has given us confidence in the work we have done to prepare her for a bright future, no matter the discipline chosen by her new owner. During the clinics and outings, she has experienced many disciplines and has demonstrated a solid basic understanding and willingness to have a go at anything you point her at.

Koko has shown her awesome cool calm nature while having her first look at water buffalo at a campdraft clinic. Koko has never once had a negative mindset; She showed keenness and interest in her first experience tailing and tracking the buffalo. Koko has also demonstrated her knack for being a stock horse, “the breed for every need” by participating in an all-round eventing clinic with disciplines such as cross country, dressage, show jumping and sporting she was absolutely faultless being her first outing with other horses, there was a lot going on for a first outing but Koko smashed it out of the park.

Koko has three lovely even gaits, giving a smooth relaxed ride, she tracks well and should make a super show, challenge or campdraft prospect. She has just competed at her first branch show and placed in everything being reserve champion hack and working for 4yo and over. So as you can imagine for her first show we were stoked. She has established rollbacks, haunch turns, flying changes, and lengthened trot.

Koko is easy to ride on a loose rein, walk to canter or a collected rein, nothing worries her. Koko has trail ridden with other horses and on her own, been out mustering/droving with other horses, dogs and motorbikes. Nothing we have found bothers her. She has now been ridden by many riders and different levels of riders. During the Dec/January Koko was used for trail rides for friends on summer holidays. Also ridden by children from time to time without any problems. Our friend’s 11yo son is a very nervous rider and he just loved his ride on Koko for the day and felt very relaxed the entire ride.

Koko is very well bred; her half-sister Riverglen Jamaica is a National young horse champion, also being back-to-back ASH state futurity and maturity winner. She also holds state champion for novice hack, she is a very well-performed mare in her own right, with a placing in her first camp draft run.
Koko’s mother Trinity, currently competed by a young girl in shows and challenges with great success. Trinity’s career highlight was the placing in the ASH National show Maturity.
Koko’s Sire Doongara Powerade, is also a super horse, a winner of the National 3yo Futurity challenge at Tamworth as well as placing in the National Maturity challenge at Tamworth. Not only that, Powerade is an open camp drafter and has a swag of results to show for it.
Koko displays the strong influence of the quality, performed horses in her breeding, as well as down her lines. Koko will be the ultimate family all-rounder and has had a super start to help her on her way. A horse that will not disappoint the most discerning purchaser in any way, a lot of fun is to be had on this quality mare.
