Amity was started in 2023, and excuse the pun, but she took to it like a duck to water. Very easy going, smooth travelling mare. Following being broken in, she spent 10 weeks on the road droving around the Maranoa region, and then joined our work horse team mustering. She’s tough and sure footed out in the paddock, happy to go wherever you point her and will happily plug along at whatever pace you set her at on a loose rein. Very soft and comfortable to ride, and tracks a cow very naturally. We hauled her to a few futurities at the end of 2024 for a bit of exposure, where she placed 6th at Wallumbilla with a cut out on tough cattle. By sale time Amity will have spent about 8 weeks total with Corinne Anderson Equine, who will also be putting her through the sale for us. Expected to mature 14.2hh Amity’s sire Breks Duck Yeah needs no introduction, multiple draft winner himself and his progeny are campdraft and challenge winners & placegetters, and progeny selling to $30,000 in this sale. Her dam Sonia Johnson was unstarted due to an injury as a yearling, and has herself produced a campdraft placegetter in ‘Hydrives Red Willow’ who ran 2nd in a Maiden for Maiden as a 6yr. Amity is her next progeny who made it to breaking in age, and has not disappointed us. Sonia Johnson is the eldest progeny from her dam Docs Delta Gal, who produced a challenge winner and campdraft placegetter in Hez Our Bobcat, who won the Invitational Open Challenge at Horse of the North in 2024 with Gavin Ware. Along with campdraft & challenge placegetter Docs Bailey Acres, who in the 2024 season ran 5th in the Maiden @ Fernvale, 4th in the M4M @ Gatton and 5th in the Maiden and M4M @ Esk in 2024.
